Often referred to as a "variety" of either hematite or goethite, it is a mixture of the two minerals due to the alteration of goethite, typically found in the botryoidal habit of the "parent" goethite. It may be iridescent. Most of these pieces when breathed on will react to the heat in your breath and momentarily change color a a result. From the covetous "Skittles Pocket." The best USA locality for these is at Mt. Graves in Georgia, these form over Quartz and Kyanite which can be distinctly seen on many of the pieces.
